The new vessel building at the yard of Messrs. Miller Bros. & Clark, on the North Branch was launched yesterday afternoon. She is a 2 masted schooner, 122 ft. in length, 26 ft. beam, 10 1/2 ft. hold, and about 300 tons burthen; is owned by Capt. Thomas Simms, and is valued at $14,000. The launch was a perfect success, the vessel gliding gracefully into the water, without accident of any kind, at precisely 4:07. She is named after her owner Thomas Simms.
The huge tow boat building for Capt. Prindiville's at the same yards will be ready for launch in about 2 weeks. - Chi. Times, April 14.
