The schooner BELLE STEVENS, the St. Joseph vessel, which arrived here a day or two since, has been purchased by government for the puropse of transporting oil to the various light-houses on the upper lakes. She is now being fitted out for that purpose, and when in readiness, will be commanded by Captain George Cross. - Detroit Free Press.
