Messrs. J.L. Hurd & Co. sold, the day before yesterday their propeller the GEN. TAYLOR to Col. Sheldon McKnight for the sum of $18,000. Col. McKnight, we understand, will place the GEN. TAYLOR upon the Cleveland, Sault Ste. Marie, and Ontonagon line, passing through the Saut Ste. Marie Canal. She loads with 300 bbls. copper for Cleveland today, and will start from thence on Thursday on her first trip to Lake Superior. The place of the GEN. TAYLOR in the Dunkirk line will be supplied by the MARY STEWART.
