Description
Full Text

By an advertisement below it will be seen that the Steam Boat SHELDON THOMPSON will leave this port for Detroit on the 19th inst. We take pleasure in noticing the arrangements and alterations which this boat has undergone, which can not fail to increase her accomodations and speed. Her engine, always inefficient, has been superceded by a new low pressure engine of double the power of the old one, fitted up at the engine shop of P. B. Andrews of this village. Her hurricane deck has been extended entirely over her main deck, which, with her internal arrangements, cannot fail to make her second to no boat on Lake Erie.

She will leave this port for Detroit on Thursday the 19th inst.

She has undergone a thorough repair; and received a new, low pressure engine of double the power of her former one. She will continue to run between Detroit and such other ports as the ice will permit her to enter, until the whole of navigation is open, when she will take her regular station in the line from Buffalo to Detroit; leaving Buffalo on Wednesdays and Detroit on Saturdays, and touching at the intervening ports.
