Captain Fix, of Buffalo is reported to have purchased the small passenger steamer WELCOME from the Douglas Transportation Co., St. Clair, and will operate her between Buffalo and Fort Erie. The vessel is 80 ft. long.

      It was reported here yesterday that Capt. Fix will arrive in Buffalo toda with a new ferryboat, which will be operated between Buffalo and Fort Erie. Capt. Fix went to Detroit early in the week and took a crew with him. When he left here he expected to buy the stmr. WELCOME which has space for 8 or 10 vehicles.
