Capt. James Dean, of this city, has sold his barge, the WINDSOR, to Gifford, Ruddock & Co. of Chicago, for the sum of $12,000. She will in future be employed in the lumber trade on Lake Michigan. At one time this vessel was one of the most prominent ferry steamers between this city and Windsor, and in April 1866, was burned, with the loss of 30 lives.
