Milwaukee, Nov. 19 - The prop. JAMES WOOD, from Buffalo, during a severe gale on Lake Erie, saved a crew, 5 in number, from a sinking vessel. When within 5 miles of Sheboygan, on Lake Michigan, in a heavy sea, her smoke pipe was carried away, and she was near being lost. She, however, rode out the gale at anchor, and is now at Racine.
