Arthur Woods (Tug), 28 May 1888

Description
Full Text

The tug ARTHUR WOODS was launched at O'Grady & Mahar's boat yard Saturday (5/26) afternoon. She is to be used for towing mud scows and dredges, and is a fine boat for this work. The long distance that the mud scows have to be towed necessitates a large class of tugs than has heretofore been employed for this purpose. Her engine, 16 by 18, was built
by Donaldson & Whiteman. Farrar & Trefts furnished the steel boiler, which is 6 ft. by 11 1/2 ft., and O'Grady & Mahar may well be proud of the hull.
