We learn from the Express of this morning that the prop. CITY
OF QUINCY was launched yesterday afternoon about 5:00 from the
yard of Messrs. Van Slyke, Notter & Co. She is a first class
craft of 350 tons burthen, and is the exact counterpart of the
CITY OF MADISON, under command of Capt. Pease, which was launched
last Thursday. The QUINCY will be commanded by Capt. Hambleton.
Both vessels were built for Messrs. Fitzhugh & Littlejohn, of
Oswegp, will be employed in the "Old Oswego Line." Messrs. Van
Slyke, Notter & Co. have accomplished a vast amount of work
during the winter, in repairing besides building. There yard is
a busy scene of activity in all the branches of shipbuilding.
