A vessel was launched in Detroit on Tuesday named the JOHN BURKE, after that well known citizen of Detroit. Her dimensions are 143 feet overall; breadth of beam 20 feet; depth of hold 11 feet 6 inched; capacity 18,000 bushels of wheat. She is of the largest canal size and is owned by Capt. C.J. Ralph, H.E. Burke, and H.C. Ralph.
