A vessel was recently launched at Marine City, the EMMA ELIDA MAYES. She comes under the class of a sailing barge, having two masts. Her capacity is 80,000 feet of lumber, 1200 tons burden, (?) She possesses all the guarantees of a staunch built craft, independent of steam power, her sails will enable her to be handles in ordinary weather. She is owned by F. Morrell, of Marine City and named in honor of a daughter of a well known citizen of Detroit. The MAYES leaves for her first trip on Saturday.
