NEW VESSELS. - Capt. Williams, Marine Inspector for this district, has recently returned from a tour of inspection, and gives some information relative to ship-building down the lake and River St. Lawrence.
. . . . A new vessel named the MONTPELIER, of about 18,000 bu capacity, was built and launched last fall at Clayton by Fowler & Esseltyne. She will be fitted out and ready for sea on the opening of navigation.
Fowler & Esseltyne are now rebuilding and lengthening the barks SOVEREIGN OF THE LAKES and NORTHERN LIGHT. When completed these vessels will be as good as new. . .
