      Lake Erie, Sept. 4th, 1869
The undersigned, passengers on the prop. IDAHO, desire to express our most sincere thanks to Captain and Mrs. Penney, and their subordinates, for the kindness and attention shown during the round trip from Buffalo to Chicago and return. With their warm hearts and genial natures one cannot come in contact with them without feeling that a large contributionto their hapiness has been secured. This coupled with the ability and determination to do all that can be done for the comfort of their guests, is a sufficient guarantee that the task will be fully accomplished. With the Captain's ability as a sailor, and Chief Engineer Daly to control the motive power, we feel that there is nothing left but to enjoy ourselves, and would heartily recommend all who are seeking pleasure in a trip around the lakes to themselves of the Captain's hospitality and elegant boat, which we have every reason to believe will continue to be all that it now is so long as the line to which this boat belongs is under the efficient management of "Shelled Peas."
