The new 3-and-after was launched successfully from Jone's yard, Detroit, on Saturday last at 3:15 P.M., a little in advance of the hour expected by a large number of visitors who arrived at 4:00. She was christened the MARQUETTE, and will hail from the locality, being owned by G.W. Allen of Marquette, and Wells Burt, of Ypsilanti. She was towed up to the shear yesterday forenoon. Her dimensions are as follows: keel 138 ft.; overall, 143 ft.; beam 26 ft.; depth 11 ft. She promises to be a good "carrier."
