A new 3-masted barge-schooner, named the J.H. RUTTER, was launched at Marine City last week Wednesday. She was built by David Lester, for the Toledo & Saginaw Transportation Co. Her dimensions are: Length, 210 ft.; breadth of beam, 36 ft.; depth of hold, 15 ft., and a carrying capacity of 60,000 bu. corn.

The schooner barge J.H. RUTTER was successfully launched last Thursday from the yard of David Lester at Marine City. She is the 9th. vessel built by him for the Toledo and Saginaw Transportation Co. She will carry 1,600 tons of freight or over 1 million feet of lumber.

      Detroit papers report the cargo of the new schr. barge J.H. RUTTER, which was in port Saturday, as the largest of any sail vessel. Her cargo is reported at 59,826 bu. of corn, or 1,675 tons. This is a large cargo, but is 37 1/2 tons less than that of the schr. A.B. MOORE, which was 1717 1/2 tons. The RUTTER is commanded by Capt. Frank Norton. She is 220 ft. keel, 36 ft. 2 inches beam, 14 1/2 ft. hold, carries 3 light masts, and was built at Marine City.
