      On Saturday at Milwaukee was launched the new 3 master, JOHN MERRILL. She was built by Allan McClelland & Co., for Capt. James Porter and Geo. Sanborn. Her dimensions are: Length of keel 183 ft., over all about 203 ft.; breadth of beam 31 ft.; depth of hold at shoaliest point 13 ft. 4 inches. Carrying capacity estimated at 40,000 bu. She will carry about 5,000 yards of canvas and draws light 4 ft. 7 inches forward and 5 ft. 8 inches aft. A fine handsome tug was on the day also launched at Milwaukee from the yard of N. Brooks. It was nemaed the GEN. BELKNAP, after our present Sec. of War.
