STEAMER CANADA. - The Detroit Free Press of the 15th inst., contains the following well merited tribute to this boat, which it truly says has "thus far during the season, gained a great popularity with the travelling community. She has been one of the most punctual boats in her trips that sail the lakes and we understand it is the intention during the winter of making some improvements in her machinery, whereby she will be able to make the passage to Buffalo in 18 hours.
New boilers of a larger dimension are to be put into her, or the present ones to be enlarged and set further aft, by which alterations her speed will be very much increased."
