Messrs. Allen, McClelland & Co., launched at Milwaukee the new vessel built by them for Capt. James William Porter, John Fitzgerald and John B. Merrill, on Saturday afternoon. She went off in fine style and was christened the PORTER. Her length is about 208 ft. over all, with 33 ft. beam and 14 ft. hold amidships. The spars are already to be placed on board. The PORTER will be ready to load soon, and is expected to be ready to take her departure for Buffalo with the first of the fleet.
