The new 3-masted schr.-barge TRANSFER, owned by Kirby, Furlong & Co. was successfully launched at Grand Haven on Wednesday afternoon. She will be used in the lumber trade between Chicago and Grand Haven and has a carrying capacity of 450,000 ft. This is the last vessel that has been building at the shipyard here during the winter, and her launch ends an unusually busy season in shipbuilding.
