      The Western Tranportation Co. which organized in this city during the past
winter to navigate the Lakes and Canals, have arranged with Messrs. A, T.
Spencer & Co. of Chicago as their agents for the ensuing year, and have the
use of dock from the west side of State St. to Wabash Ave. They have also
secured the services of Mr. Rollin Robinson, of this citym as their freight
agent at that point.

      Finally on the American Tranportation Co. I have no specific but the
article below indicates it was formed during the winter of 1855-56 or the
spring of 1856.
