1 LARGEST STEEL SCHOONER ON THE LAKES.
      Chicago, Aug. 31. - The AURANIA, the largest steel schooner on the Great Lakes, was launched at South Chicago today. The boat is owned largely by W.T. Carrington of the Chicago Board of Trade. In dimension she is 366 feet long, 352 feet keel, 44 feet Beam and 36 feet depth of hold. On her full draft of water she will carry about 6,000 tons.

Converted to bulk propeller in 1899.
      Sprunk leak and sank in Whitefish Bay, lake Superior, April 29, 1909, while smashing ice.
