The big steel tug FRANK LENAHAN, building at the Cowles Shipyards, on the Buffalo river at Louisiana and Saint Clair streets, was successfully launched at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Despite the inclement weather more than a score of marine men were present and watched the craft take her initial trip. The tug, when complete, will have cost $12,000 . The vessel was built especially for ice breaking and will be used this winter in breaking the ice in the power canal of the Niagara Falls Power company.
