Says the Erie Dispatch of Monday: "Mate DeForest Pruyn, of the schr. FOSTER, was lost off Port Colborne early yesterday morning. Pruyn's son assisted to lower the boats to his father's rescue, but the darkness and chilly weather prevented his rescue. Pruyn had been a tug captain at Erie and Detroit for a number of years. Pruyn had a premonition that something would happen to him on the trip and left the vessel in Buffalo last trip, but was persuaded to return.
