A handsome new vessel, the ARCTURUS, reached this port for the first time Tuesday. She was built by F.D. Ketchum, of Port Huron, and is owned by O. Bugbee. Her dimensions are - Keel, 142 feet; beam 28 feet 2 inches; hold, 11 feet 2 inches, burthen 415 tons.

The schooner ARCTURUS, Capt. J. Barnes, was ready for sea last night, bound for Buffalo. Her cargo is 6,000 bu barley from Chicago -- 11,000 do from Higby's warehouse. The ARCTURUS is, we believe, the largest fore and aft schooner but one, on the lakes, the WILLIAMS. She has one of the patent steerers, a sort of cast iron cap which fits on the rudder head; the wheel is cast iron on a steel barrel, with semi-diamond screws, made by Sylvender Cram, Harvard Place, Boston, and is an exceedingly ingenious contrivance for steering, avoiding the necessity of tightening tiller ropes, &c, in port. The captain of the FERGUSON is having one put into his vessel. They cost $150 each, and we believe the FERGUSON will make the fourth on the lakes. -- Milwaukee Sentinel, Apr. 20
