THE QUICKEST TRIP ON RECORD. -- The schooner E. S. J. BEMIS, Capt. McAuley, has made the remarkable run from Chicago to Buffalo and back to Detroit, inside of nine days. The arrivals and clearances of vessels at the above ports show clearly that the record is no fiction. During the above passage she was detained 24 hours in Pigeon Bay by head winds. The feat was never before performed by any other vessel in the same time. - Detroit Free Press, 25th.
