Buffalo, Sept. 13

Canal Navigation.-- About 26 miles of canal navigation is open at the western extremity of the Erie Canal, extending from Buffalo to Lanesburgh, on the mountain ridge. There are several canal boats which navigate this part of the canal without paying toll, as collectors have not yet been appointed. The number of arrivals at this place will average from 15 to 20 per week, with valuable cargoes. Patriot.


Census.--According to the present census the town of Buffalo contains 5,140 inhabitants, giving an increase of more than 3,000 during the last five years. Ib.
