St. Joseph, June 11 - While approaching this port on the run across from Chicago early this morning, the steering gear of the passenger steamer CITY OF BENTON HARBOR became disabled, rendering her helpless 2 miles from shore. Distress signals soon brought the tug BONITA to the rescue and the steamer was towed into the harbor.
