The British Schr. Perseverance, Capt. Macket, cleared from Amherstburg for Fort Erie on Friday, the 14th ult. and having arrived at her destination and taken in a cargo of salt and hardware, again sailed on her return. Soon after, capt. Hacket, who is an experienced seaman, while giving some necessary orders, was opposed and threatened by a man named M'Gee.--The captain disregarded M'Gee, and repeated his orders, but the sailors, as if by previous concert, refused to obey, and M'Gee suddenly fell upon him, knocked him down, and beat him almost senseless. M'Gee then assumed the command of the vessel, and ordered one Dobson, the mate, (And M'Gee's brother-in-law) to take the helm. About 36 miles from amherstburg, on the night on the 20th ult. owing to the ignorance of the mutineers and the confusion on board, the vessel ran aground on Point au Plait island, where she thumped away until morning, to their great terror. At length she was go off much damaged, and part of the cargo lost.

M'Gee is a stranger, lately from Nova Scotia, and by trade a ship carpenter.
