The Steamer AMERICA. - This magnificent steamer is undergoing important changes, and in addition to her strength and facilities for accommodation of the public, Capt. Philips is now engaged in adding two magnificent arches, spanning near two hundred feet from bow to stern, over the entire wheel houses, which must add greatly to her strength. She is also being renovated and repainted in splendid style, and will be ready for action in about two weeks. --- Detroit Adv.
