Harbour appropriation.--By letters received in town yesterday, we learn that a bill appropriating $35,000 for Buffalo Harbour, had passed the House of Representatives of the U.S. and that when sent to the Senate, the amount was reduced to $32,000, (being the amount petitioned for,) in which shape it passed that body and was to be returned to the House for concurrence; where, add the writers, no opposition is expected to its final passage.

This is taking hold of the subject in a manner worthy of its importance. The expenditure will doubtless be made by an engineer of the U.S. appointed for the purpose; thus constituting Buffalo Harbour a national one, and extending to its works that permanency which the commerce of Lake Erie has so long required.--Buffalo Journal.
