CHANGE OF RIG - A RELIABLE CRAFT. The schooner George D. Dousman, a vessel commenced on the lakes in 1857, and from the first presenting one of the finest fitouts on the lakes – that of a topsail and topgallant sail craft – has changed her appearance to that of a fore-and-after. In 1859 the vessel took from this port to London, England, a cargo of staves, making a quick trip across the Atlantic. She is a fine looking vessel of 362 tons and was formerly owned by the Winslows.
