Officials of the Detroit Ship Building Co. expect to turn over the 5,000-ton steel steamer YOSEMITE to her owners today (Thursday), and they are just a little proud of the record they have made in installing the machinery of this vessel and attending to her fit-out. It is expected that she will be loaded with coal within two weeks of the date of launching. She was launched Saturday, the 7th inst., and by the following Saturday, both the engines, boilers, etc., had been placed aboard and everything connected up, ready for a dock trial. An error was made in saying that Mr. Alexander McVittie will manage this ship. She will be managed by Mr. M.E. Farr of Detroit.
