Two Whaleback steamers, the PILLSBURY and WASHBURN and a new steel tug, were launched on Saturday last, at the yards of the American Barge Co., at West Superior. The steel tug is 60 feet long, 13 feet beam and 5 feet deep.

The launch of the whaleback tug ISLAY, of West Superior on Saturday was not successful. Her bow went into the water first, causing the stern to drak behind. Thus the shor and rudder were carried away and her wheel injured.
