Shortly before 10 o'clock this forenoon, a large crowd of people assembled on or near Military and Seventh Street bridges to witness the launch of the new boat of the Jenks Steam Boat Co. At promptly 10 o'clock a man stationed at either end of the boat cut the stays and the craft gradually slid into the river sideways. The launch was a success in every particular. The new boat will be called the DESMOND.
