The Jenks Ship Building Company have laid the keel for a new lake tug for the H.M. Loud and Sons Lumbering Co., of Au Sable. She will be constructed after the model of the tug SUMNER and will have that tug's machinery placed in her. The model was secured at Oswego where the SUMNER was built.

      The new tug being built at the Jenks Ship Building yards for H.M. Loud, will be named the VIGILANT. The boat will be launched this week, on Thursday.

      While placing the boiler in the new tug VIGILANT at the Wolverine dry dock on Saturday afternoon, the derrick broke and the heavy boiler fell into the boat, doing several hundreds of dollars worth of damage.
