Maid of Midland (Propeller), 26 Aug 1880

Description
Full Text

The tug MAID OF MIDLAND is being overhauled at Coldwater and will be rechristened. They say the village belle didn't like the idea of a mere tug being called the MAID OF MIDLAND, so to remove all causes of jealousy the boat's new name will be FRANCIS JANE. No village belle in the world could be jealous of anyone or anything owning that name.
