The Ensurance* Companies of this city, in consequence of the recent heavy loss of vessels upon this coast, have determined not to underwrite vessels or cargoes under charge of any master, whose vessel has been lost under circumstances which warrant the suspicion of carelessness or incompetency, until his conduct respecting the same has been investigated by a committee appointed by the Companies for that purpose.
