" The SELWYN EDDY, which is still at the Buffalo drydock, leaves here next week in two parts for the coast. Word was received by Capt. Crowley of the Coastwise Transportation Co., who is here looking after the altering of the boats bought by his company, that the canal-sized steamer INLAND, bought from Canadian parties, has arrived at Montreal.       CAPT. BROOKS RETURNS TO TAKE SELWYN EDDY TO COAST.
Capt. Walter Brooks, representing the Coastwise Transportation Co. of New York and Boston, returned to Buffalo yesterday from Montreal where he had been looking after the putting together of the steamers HARVEY H. BROWN and LACKAWANNA, which were recently taken down in sections to that port.
Capt. Brooks figures on leaving here with the two parts of the SELWYN EDDY next Monday or Tuesday. When the EDDY leaves the drydock the steamer MARYLAND will go in to be cut in two for the trip through to Montreal.
The steamer CORSICA which has been bought by the same people is in No. 2 drydock having twenty plates replaced. She is now waiting for a stern frame.
