The dominion government's new lightship LURCHER, built at a cost of $200,000 was launched yesterday at Toronto. The vessel is 112 feet long, 29 feet beam, and has three decks. She will be fitted with electric searchlights and has a fog signal audible 25 miles distant. It will be used on the lower St. Lawrence

The lightship LURCHER, said to be the largest in the world, was finished yesterday at the Polson yard at Toronto. The vessel will be taken down the St. Lawrence river at once.
