LAUNCHES:-- The Sandusky Mirror says the JAPAN, a new schooner built by Thomas Hamilton, was launched on the 23d ult.
The LILLY, built by Capt. D. Bates, was launched on the 28th. They are both fine vessels, and will probably be employed in the Milan trade.

NOTE:-- The above name LILY is an error. The TARTAR was built at Milan by Capt. Bates in 1853 and launched April 28, 1853 as per her first enrollment, home port, Sandusky. 248.26 tons. 110.6 x 24.2 x 10.2 square stern. Scroll head. her second enrollment dated May 14, 1859, gives B.O. Wilcox as owner and P. Pomeroy as Captain, and Fairport as the home port.
