Bark WESTERN METROPOLIS, cargo salt, lost foretopmast and etc., in a squall on Lake Erie, bore up for Buffalo.

      THE BARK WESTERN METROPOLIS. - The METROPOLIS cleared from this port on the 7th for Chicago, and when she had arrived nearly opposite Black River, Lake Erie, a sudden squall sprung up breaking her fore top mast which rendered it necessary for her to return to this port for repairs. She will not be detained more than two or three days.
