      . . . . .

THE BARK FAME. - The bark FAME, which, as has been already noticed in our columns, met with a disaster by sinking at Eagle Harbor, arrived here yesterday noon in tow of the tug H.N. MARTIN, which brought her through to this point.
On the passage down, and while on Lake Huron off Forty Mile Point, the bark was struck by lightning, shivering her fore-top-gallant mast into splinters, and stunning some of the crew. Farther on the voyage down, and in the locality of Saginaw Bay, the tug took fire, and would have been totally consumed had it not been for the timely presence of the prop. ADRIATIC, then bound up and not far distant.
The pumps of the ADRIATIC soon flooded the burning tug and extinguished the flames, when both vessel and tug were towed into Tawas Harbor. At this point she was temporarily repaired and proceeded on the voyage to this port, arriving as above stated. - Detroit Free Press.
