The Canadian schr. ARABIA was sighted at anchor off Grindstone City, Lake Huron, Friday, dismasted and flying a signal of distress. Her foremast and mainmastwere broken off short, and she was also bereft of her jibboom, bowsprit, and headgear generally. The tug WOOD was sent from Cheboygan to her assistance. She had encountered the violent squalls on Wednesday evening.

Yesterday morning the schr. ARABIA that was recently dismasted on Lake Huron arrived down and last evening was at Windsor. The reports of her mishap have not been one particle exaggerated. her mizzenmast and topmast are standing, but the mainmast is broken off below the trestle tree, and the foremast about 30 ft. above the deck. Besides, all her head gear is gone. She will probably be towed to Port Colborne for repairs.
