PURDY, VIRGINIA Schooner, struck by lightning, Lake Michigan. Property loss $500

We learn by a telegraph despatch that the brig VIRGINIA PURDY was struck by lightning in Chicago this morning, causing her to leak considerably, in addition to the loss of her foremast. The VIRGINIA PURDY arrived at Chicago last evening.
