STEAMBOAT ACCIDENT. -- Last Saturday as the steamer CONSTITUTION, Capt. John Vail, was making the wharf of B. Higgings & Co., she ran foul of the north-west corner of the dock, bows on, about six feet from the stem. Her wheels had stopped, but the boat was under full head way, and when within six feet of the wharf her backing bell runk, but the engine was motionless when she struck. The concussion was such to stop her headway, but smashing a large hole in the bow of the steamer some 6 or 7 feet in length and about the same width, in the shape of a triangle. They ran her towards the shore but she sank in going her length, where she now lies in about eight feet of water. She will be repaired and come out again in a week. Capt. Vail was not on board at the time. -- Sand

BOAT CHANGES. -- The old CONSTITUTION was recently sunk in Sandusky bay, and the Buffalo Express states that the SAM WARD, a safe, new boat, is hereafter to run in the Sandusky line in her place.
