LOSS OF THE BRIG ALLEGANY. -- The vessel reported by us on Saturday as having been sunk off the Clay Banks, proves to be the brig ALLEGANY, owned by Gen. Reed, of Erie, and bound from that port to Mackinaw with a cargo of 350 tons of coal. She was sunk by collision with the brig YOUNG AMERICA, bound to this port from Chicago. The latter sustained considerable damage, and has been taken to Malden to refit. The ALLEGANY, it is supposed, will prove a total loss. No insurance on vessel or cargo.
