MARINE DISASTERS. -- The Chicago Tribune of Tuesday, brings us the following particulars of the late gale:
We yesterday reported the brig JULIA DEAN ashore at Skilllagalle. She is owned by B.S. Shepard of this city, and is worth some $20,000 -- insured we understand, in the Ocean and Atlas Companies, besides $17,000 insurance on her cargo in the Chicago Mutual.
The brig JULIA DEAN, reported ashore yesterday at Skilligalee Islands, in Mackinac Straits, left Chicago early last week and went on the rocks on Thursday. She was laden with wheat, owned by B.S. Shepard, of Chicago, and together with her cargo is insured. The tug RESCUE, says the Detroit Tribune, has gone to her relief. The DEAN was built in the spring of 1854, by Peck & Masters, of this city. -- Cleveland Herald, 24.
