      . . . . .

The schooner HURRICANE, owned by W.A.Fox & Co., of this city, went ashore at Gravelly bay, in the tremendous north-easter of Tuesday night. She had on a full cargo of pork and beef, and was insured for $12,000. $6,000 in the Buffalo Mutual, and the balance in the Orient and Commercial Exchange Companies. The new propeller MORTON, and the brig MONTEATH have gone to her assistance, and will be here with the vessel and cargo, today. The cargo will all doubtless be saved.

      . . . . .
The propeller NILE, Capt. Rounds, arrived from Chicago last night with 25,000 bu oats for P.S. Marsh, and a large quantity of other freight. Capt. Rounds reports large fleets in Detroit and St. Clair rivers, bound up. He also saw two schooners ashore at Long Point. They prove to be the E.M. LYON and the HURRICANE, and were beached last Tuesday. The latter is a new vessel , owned by Watson A. Fox, and was on her first round from Chicago, bound down. She had on a full cargo of provisions. A tug and schooner went up last night to light her, and she will, no doubt, be got off without material damage.
