FISHER Schooner, lost man, Straits of Mackinac
      Buffalo Democracy
      Feb. 28, 1855 (casualty list)

DROWNED.---The schooner FISHER arrived at this port yesterday noon, from
Detroit. Her Captain reports that on Thursday night last, while on Lake Huron,
one of the crew named Charles Owens, was lost overboard, as he was in the act of
hanging a light over the bow. The deceased was about 19 years of age, and his
parents are supposed to live somewhere on the line of the Illinois and Michigan
Canal. All efforts to save him proved fruitless.----Chicago Tribune
