LOSS OF THE SCHOONER "ENERGY"---A telegraphic dispatch was received in this city, on Monday evening, from Capt. Smith, of the propeller QUEEN OF THE LAKE by Messrs Niles & Wheeler, stating that the new schooner ENERGY had been wrecked in Little Traverse Bay, and Captain White of the ENERGY, was drowned. The rest of the
crew were saved, and were on board the propeller. The schooner ENERGY was built by Messrs Jones of this city for Niles & Wheeler, and was the first of a line of vessels which the firm contemplated building at this port, and to be ready on the opening of navigation. The ENERGY had only been launched some three weeks since, and was on her first return trip with a cargo of some 12,000 bushels of wheat from Waukegan. She was valued at $12,000, and the vessel together with her cargo was fully insured.
